Bio
Recruited from Hawkesdale in the Western District, Graeme Linke was a tall, sturdy key defender who typically manned the full-back post with a focus on spoiling and defensive accountability. He spent four seasons with Geelong in the early 1970s, establishing himself as a reliable backman without ever fully cementing a permanent hold on the number one defensive spot at Kardinia Park. Seeking greater opportunity, Linke took a detour to the SANFL to play with Woodville for two seasons, a move that eventually earned him a lifeline back in the VFL with Footscray in 1977. While his second stint at the top level was brief and limited to a handful of appearances, he remains a respected journeyman who crossed state lines to extend his career at the highest level.
