Bio
Arriving at Collingwood with a burgeoning reputation from Cooee in Tasmania, Graeme Shephard was a highly skilled rover whose VFL career was punctuated by a significant hiatus. After a promising debut season in 1970 where he displayed his explosive speed and dual-sided kicking, he returned to the Apple Isle for three years, dominating the local competition before being lured back to Victoria Park in 1974. He quickly re-established himself as a classy ball-winner who could drift forward and hit the scoreboard, playing his best football during this second stint. However, a pay dispute at the end of 1975 saw him walk away from the league prematurely to return to Tasmania. Despite his fragmented tally of 46 games, his talent was undeniable, a legacy eventually continued at the club by his son, Heath, in the late 1980s.
