Bio
Recruited from amateur club Glenhuntly, Graeme Wilkinson arrived at Melbourne during the club's powerhouse era but found it difficult to break into the senior lineup. A strong-marking key forward capable of rotating through the ruck, he managed just one senior game for the Demons in 1958 before seeking greater opportunities elsewhere. He crossed to Richmond in 1960 and immediately established himself, winning the club's Best First Year Player award and topping the goalkicking list in a side that struggled near the bottom of the ladder. After two seasons at Punt Road, Wilkinson left the VFL to accept a captain-coaching role in Tasmania, where he later became a hall of fame figure for City-South.
