Teams

Recruited from South Bendigo, Graham Brandt was a capable utility who made an immediate impression at the Lake Oval in the late 1960s. Handed his debut in the opening round of the 1969 season, he quickly established himself in the South Melbourne lineup, playing the first 12 matches consecutively and featuring in the club's mid-season resurgence. Standing 182cm, Brandt provided a versatile option for the Bloods, able to play a defensive role or drift forward to hit the scoreboard. However, his career trajectory hit an unexpected hurdle when he missed the entire 1970 season, halting the momentum he had built during his rookie year. Brandt returned for one final senior appearance in Round 1, 1971, kicking a goal against Melbourne at the MCG, but was unable to reclaim a regular spot and finished his VFL career with 13 games.
