Bio
Recruited from VFA club Coburg, Graham Ryan was a rangy defender who became a staple of the North Melbourne backline in the early 1960s. Standing 185cm with a slender frame, he used his height and reach to compete in aerial contests, often tasked with holding down key defensive posts during a lean period for the club. Ryan wasted little time adjusting to VFL level, missing only a handful of matches across his first two seasons as he established himself in the regular lineup. After a two-year hiatus from the senior side in 1963 and 1964, he fought his way back for a final stint in 1965, finishing his career at Arden Street as a dependable servant who played 43 games in the royal blue and white.
