Bio
A prolific goalkicker from South Fremantle, Graham Scott arrived at St Kilda with a formidable reputation after booting 97 goals in the 1971 WAFL season and starring in a premiership the year prior. Though recruited as a key forward, at 185cm he was slightly undersized for the VFL goal square and often found himself operating as a half-forward flanker where his effective kicking was an asset. He made an immediate impact with three goals on debut against Footscray, but a stomach injury derailed his momentum and he struggled to hold a regular spot over two seasons at Moorabbin. In a bid to revitalise his career, he was traded to Melbourne in 1974 as part of the deal for Paul Callery, with Demons coach Carl Ditterich hoping Scott could solve the club's scoring woes. However, persistent hamstring issues limited him to just eight games—including a brief experimental stint on the half-back flank—before he departed the VFL to captain-coach Ferntree Gully.
