Bio
Arriving at Victoria Park via Port Melbourne and Middle Park Wesleys, Grahame McConechy was a tall forward who looked to be an immediate find for the Magpies. Standing 182cm—a significant height for a key position player in the early 1900s—he burst onto the scene with a dominant three-goal haul on debut against Geelong in the opening round of the 1904 season. Despite this electric start, McConechy struggled to maintain that scoreboard impact at the elite level, managing just three further majors over the remainder of the year. He drifted in and out of the selected side before making his final appearance in Round 13, concluding a brief cameo in the black and white that promised much but ended quickly.
