Stats
Bio
Recruited from Sandy Bay in Tasmania, Grant Williams joined Hawthorn during the club's golden era after being selected with pick 30 in the 1988 National Draft. Breaking into a star-studded lineup featuring the likes of Jason Dunstall and John Platten proved difficult, and the diminutive rover managed just a single senior appearance in brown and gold in 1990 before being delisted. He was offered a second chance by Melbourne via the 1992 Pre-Season Draft, where he showed glimpses of offensive capability by booting five goals across three matches. While his time on the field was fleeting, Williams remained a fixture in the AFL landscape long after his retirement, eventually transitioning into significant administrative roles including General Manager of Football Operations at Carlton and Head of Football at the GWS Giants.
