Bio
Recruited from the Balwyn Tigers in Melbourne's eastern suburbs, where the Booth family name was already well-entrenched in local football history, Greg Booth arrived at Fitzroy as a defensive prospect in the early 1970s. Standing at 184cm, he had the size to play key defensive roles or flank at the VFL level, but found himself on the fringes of the senior side throughout his three-season tenure. He managed to break into the lineup for 17 games between 1972 and 1974, a period when the Lions were gradually building a competitive list under coach Graham Donaldson. Despite his persistence, Booth was unable to cement a permanent spot in the backline and departed the club prior to Fitzroy's resurgence in the late 1970s, leaving his mark as a depth player during the club's transitional years.
