Stats
Bio
Recruited from neighbouring VFA club Box Hill, Greg Burgess was a tall utility who briefly featured for Hawthorn during the club's lean mid-1960s period. Standing 188cm, he possessed the frame to play as a key position option or follower in an era where such height was at a premium. He made his senior debut in late 1965 wearing the number 41 guernsey but found a regular spot difficult to secure within a Hawks lineup that was struggling for consistency. Burgess switched to the number 13 locker for the 1966 season, adding three final games to his tally as a depth player before departing the VFL scene without registering a goal.
