Stats
Bio
Recruited from amateur side University Blues, Greg Dean faced a baptism of fire in his VFL debut, running out against Collingwood at the notoriously hostile Victoria Park in 1949. A solid half-back flanker standing 182cm, Dean managed four games in his debut season and added another three in 1950 before his senior career concluded. Despite his brief tenure on the field, Dean’s legacy at Moorabbin extended well beyond his playing days; he became a stalwart of the St Kilda Past Players & Officials Association, serving as a dedicated committeeman and the instrumental organiser of the annual Allan Jeans Cup golf and bowls days on Phillip Island until his passing in 2024.
