Bio
Recruited from North Whyalla in South Australia, Greg Flanegan was a solid-bodied forward who made a brief cameo for the Bombers late in the 1980 season. Presenting as a strong target inside 50, he made the most of his limited opportunities by booting three goals in his two senior appearances, including a lively two-goal effort against Footscray at Windy Hill. Despite this promising start, he found himself stuck behind established stars like Simon Madden and Paul Van Der Haar in the Essendon pecking order. He eventually returned to his home state, continuing his career with West Torrens in the SANFL and later South Augusta.
