Bio
Recruited from Subiaco with the eighth selection in the 1995 National Draft, Greg Harding was a rangy key defender who quickly found a home in Fremantle's backline during the club's infancy. He made an immediate impression at the Dockers, winning the Beacon Award for the best up-and-coming player in 1996, and often shouldered heavy responsibility as a full-back in a side that frequently faced overwhelming opposition pressure. Despite a promising start to his career, Harding is perhaps best remembered for being part of a rare cross-town trade, crossing the divide to join arch-rivals West Coast in exchange for Daniel Hargraves following the 2000 season. His time at the Eagles was ultimately frustrated by injury and an inability to command a spot in the senior side, restricting him to just nine appearances in blue and gold before his AFL career concluded, leaving him as one of the few players to have represented both Western Australian clubs.
