Stats
Bio
Recruited from Swan Districts in the WAFL, Greg Jones was a tall utility selected by St Kilda with pick 49 in the 1989 National Draft. Standing 190cm, he offered key position depth but found senior opportunities scarce in a Saints lineup dominated by star forwards Tony Lockett and Stewart Loewe. Jones broke through for two games late in the 1991 season, showing genuine promise with 16 disposals and five marks against Melbourne in Round 18. Despite this flash of form, he was delisted at the end of the year and subsequently picked up by Footscray in the 1992 Pre-Season Draft. He was unable to add to his game tally at the Bulldogs and returned to Western Australia, where he carved out a substantial state league career with West Perth, East Perth, and Peel Thunder throughout the 1990s.
