Bio
Recruited from Frankston YCW on the Mornington Peninsula, Greg Lane was a diminutive rover and small forward who joined St Kilda during a lean era for the club in the early 1980s. Standing just 175cm, he demonstrated immediate goal sense in his debut 1983 season, managing to hit the scoreboard regularly despite the Saints enduring a wooden spoon campaign. Lane offered a spark inside the forward 50 but struggled to retain a regular place in the senior side over the long term, eventually departing Moorabbin after just two seasons and 14 appearances at the highest level.
