Bio
Progressing through Melbourne's Under 19s ranks, Greg MacDonald was a lively forward flanker who seized his brief opportunity at senior level late in the 1973 season. He made an immediate impact on debut by booting three goals against Essendon at Windy Hill and capped off the year as the Demons' leading goalkicker in the reserves. Despite showing genuine promise and averaging 1.5 goals per game in his four senior appearances, he was surprisingly cut from the list just weeks before the 1974 season began. MacDonald subsequently crossed to the VFA where he became a stalwart for Oakleigh, serving the Devils with distinction until the mid-1980s.
