Bio
Recruited from Wesley College, Greg Naylor was a skilful wingman whose career at Punt Road was restricted by both injury and the formidable depth of the Tigers' list in the late 1970s. Distinguished by his impressive overhead marking ability and clean disposal, he proved to be a consistent performer in the reserves, yet found it difficult to command a regular spot in a senior side destined for the 1980 premiership. His standout performance came during the 1978 season when he was tasked with opposing North Melbourne champion Keith Greig, a duel in which the young Tiger famously held his own against the dual Brownlow Medallist. Ultimately, the challenge of breaking into the senior 22 and recurring physical setbacks forced him to retire from top-level football at the age of 26.
