Bio
Recruited from Spotswood, Greg Taube was a tall utility who managed a brief senior career with South Melbourne in the late 1950s. Standing 188cm, he possessed the physical attributes to hold down a key position or assist in the ruck, but he struggled to break into the Swans' lineup consistently, managing just five games across two seasons. Seeking greater opportunity, Taube transferred to the VFA in 1961 to join Williamstown, where he immediately established himself as a reliable defensive presence. He enjoyed a successful tenure with the Seagulls, earning equal best first-year player honours, playing in the 1961 Grand Final loss to Yarraville, and finishing third in the club's 1963 best and fairest count.
