Bio
Greg Tivendale was a damaging left-footed utility who carved out a durable career at Richmond after being elevated from the rookie list. Recruited from the Gippsland Power, he overcame a slow start to become a fixture in the Tigers' lineup, playing predominantly on the wing and half-back flank. Tivendale was defined by his booming kick, which became a primary weapon for the club in clearing the ball from defence and launching counter-attacks. While his ball use could occasionally be erratic, his ability to break lines and gain significant territory made him a valuable structural asset during a lean era for the club.
A consistent selection throughout the early to mid-2000s, Tivendale was a member of the side that reached the 2001 Preliminary Final and finished third in the 2003 Best and Fairest. He proved incredibly durable at his peak, playing 135 consecutive games and providing experienced run-and-carry under multiple coaches. Delisted at the conclusion of the 2008 season as the Tigers moved towards a rebuild, he departed as a Richmond Life Member and a loyal one-club servant who maximised his natural kicking ability to remain at the top level for over a decade.
