Bio
Gus Kennedy put together a consistent draft year that culminated in him co-captaining the Dandenong Stingrays to a Coates Talent League Grand Final appearance. A junior out of Carrum Patterson Lakes, the hard-working prospect represented Vic Country at the National Championships and earned a VFL debut with Collingwood late in the season. Kennedy rounded out his 2026 campaign at the national draft combine, where he battled through illness to finish inside the top ten for the 20-metre sprint, running vertical jump and standing vertical jump.
Splitting his time between the midfield and half-back, Kennedy is known for his role compliance, explosive speed and reliable ground-level abilities. Scouts note his capacity to intercept in the air, drive his legs through traffic and break tackles. While his kicking was previously viewed as an area for improvement, his distribution by foot developed steadily throughout the year. Praised for his leadership and character, Kennedy has pushed his way up boards and is widely considered a top-40 prospect ahead of the national draft.
