Bio
Born in Prahran, Barclay "Gus" Robertson was a teenage recruit who debuted for St Kilda during one of the club's most trying eras. Entering the VFL as a 17-year-old in 1901, he featured 18 times over two seasons for a Saints lineup that finished last on the ladder in both years and secured only one win during his time on the field. Standing 175cm, he battled away in a struggling side before his career—and life—came to a premature and tragic end. Robertson played his final game in late 1902 and passed away in March 1905 at the age of just 21, leaving a brief but poignant mark on the club's early history.
