Bio
Recruited from Inglewood in central Victoria, Harold "Leo" Credlin made an explosive entrance to VFL football that few rookies have matched. The agile forward booted five goals on debut against South Melbourne late in the 1922 season and added another five-goal haul just weeks later, finding himself playing finals football in only his fifth senior appearance. Operating largely as a foil for star centre half-forward Horrie Clover, Credlin initially looked like a long-term solution in attack but struggled to sustain his stunning maiden form, managing just eight more goals over the next three seasons. After drifting out of the Blues' lineup midway through 1925, he spent five years out of the league before making a surprise, solitary comeback appearance for North Melbourne in the opening round of 1930.
