Stats
Bio
Recruited from local side East Brunswick, Harold Hartney was a short-term utility who earned a brief trial with Fitzroy during the 1931 season. He broke into the senior lineup in Round 6 against St Kilda and managed to hold his spot for four consecutive matches as the Maroons fought to stay in finals contention. Although his tenure at Brunswick Street coincided with the celebrated debut year of club legend Haydn Bunton Sr, Hartney found it difficult to make a lasting impact at the highest level, failing to trouble the scorers during his month in the firsts. He was omitted following the Round 9 loss to Footscray and did not feature again for the club, finishing his VFL career with four games to his name.
