Bio
Recruited from Fairfield, Harold Powell was a capable half-forward flanker who carved out a regular spot in the Collingwood lineup during the late 1930s. He produced his most consistent football in 1939, booting 26 goals and playing a role in the Magpies' finals series as a dangerous medium-sized target. After seeing his opportunities limited at Victoria Park the following year, Powell transferred to Fitzroy for the 1941 season but added only a few games to his career tally. His time in the VFL was ultimately cut short by the Second World War, with Powell serving in the Australian Army shortly after his final appearance.
