Bio
Recruited from St Kevin’s College via Essendon CYMS, Harry "Bubba" Carey was a defender who managed a brief senior stint with the Bombers during the 1936 season. Despite playing just three senior matches, Carey remained on the club's list until 1938, providing defensive depth before shifting his focus to country football in Gippsland with Lakes Entrance. His football journey was interrupted by military service during World War II, but he returned to the field in the post-war era as a captain-coach for Tatura and later ran out for Cobram. While his VFL career was fleeting, Carey forged a respected path outside the league as a school principal and a dedicated figure in regional football circles until his passing in 1991.
