Stats
Bio
Recruited from VFA club Northcote, Harry Caspar arrived at Princes Park in 1950 ready to impose himself on the VFL competition. Standing at 185cm and weighing nearly 90kg, he was a substantial physical presence for the era, capable of holding his own in the ruck or drifting back to anchor the defence. His career at Carlton was punctuated by a curious interruption; after four seasons, he departed to play for Sorrento in the Mornington Peninsula league in 1954, only to return to the Blues for one final senior campaign in 1955. While he was never a permanent fixture in the club's best 18, his service was highlighted by a role in the Blues' 1953 reserves premiership, and he later cemented his legacy in country football as a coach and life member at Sorrento.
