Teams

Hailing from Irishtown, Western Australia, Harry Morgan was a prolific goalkicking journeyman who established himself as a potent scoring threat in the VFL. Recruited to South Melbourne, he made an immediate impact at the Lake Oval, topping the club’s goalkicking table twice and playing a key role as a forward in their 1914 Grand Final side. Morgan operated as a classic full-forward, relying on strong leads and accurate finishing to pile on 125 career goals. His time at the elite level was punctuated by movement between states and leagues; after leaving South, he had a brief interlude back in the West before returning to Victoria to sign with Carlton in 1921. Although his stint at Princes Park was short, Morgan remained a dangerous option in attack, capping off a career defined by his ability to find the big sticks wherever he played.
