Bio
Recruited from Melbourne University, Harry Davie burst onto the scene as a sharpshooting full-forward capable of dismantling defences with his accurate kicking and strong marking. He quickly became the focal point of the Melbourne attack, most famously booting a club-record 13 goals against Carlton in 1925 to claim the league's leading goalkicker award. A premiership player in 1926, Davie remained a potent scoring threat through the 1927 Grand Final campaign before crossing to Carlton for a final season in 1928. Although his VFL career was brief, his remarkable return of 186 goals in just 58 games stands as one of the most efficient strike rates in the competition's history.
