Bio
Arriving at the Western Oval from Yarraville, Harry Dolphin broke into the Footscray lineup during the tumultuous early years of the Second World War. A sturdy defender who typically manned the back pocket, he played a serviceable role in the Bulldogs' backline across three seasons. However, his VFL tenure was cut short by military obligations, as he swapped his guernsey for a uniform to serve in the Australian Army. Consequently, Dolphin managed just 15 senior appearances between 1940 and 1942 before his career at the elite level came to a premature close due to the conflict.
