Bio
A diminutive rover recruited from Daylesford, Harry Dwan struggled to bridge the gap between reserves dominance and senior football during the tumultuous wartime era. Standing just 168cm, he proved his ball-winning ability at Punt Road by winning the Richmond reserves Best and Fairest in 1942, the same season he made his solitary senior appearance for the Tigers against Footscray. Unable to cement a regular spot in a strong Richmond lineup that was contending for premierships, Dwan crossed to Hawthorn in 1944 where he managed a further four senior games as a second rover. He eventually departed the VFL to return to the country leagues and run a garage in his hometown, leaving behind a career defined by his service as a reliable depth player during a difficult period for the league.
