Stats
Bio
Born and bred in the local district, Harry Froud broke into the South Melbourne lineup in 1919 as the league looked to rebuild its player stocks following the conclusion of the Great War. The young recruit made the most of his opportunities in a strong team that reached the preliminary final, managing ten senior appearances and contributing four goals during the 'Peace Year' campaign. While he could not cement a long-term position at Lake Oval, Froud was far from finished with football after his solitary VFL season. He crossed into the VFA, where he enjoyed a longer tenure wearing the colours of both Footscray and later Williamstown, becoming a serviceable player in the Association competition throughout the 1920s.
