Bio
Hailing from the Victorian goldfields, Harry Gibson was recruited from the Ballarat Imperials and arrived at Lake Oval as a mature-age debutant in 1904. Standing 180cm—a serviceable height for a key position player in that era—he operated primarily as a follower, shouldering the physical toll of the ruck contests and drifting forward to impact the scoreboard. He proved to be a durable and consistent contributor for the Bloods, missing very few matches across his three seasons as the club fought to bridge the gap to the top four. While his VFL tenure concluded after the 1906 season, Gibson is remembered as a reliable country recruit whose life was tragically cut short in a car accident at just 42 years of age.
