Stats
Bio
Originally from Stawell, Harry Gray spent time on the Melbourne reserves list before crossing to South Melbourne in search of senior opportunities. Unable to break into a formidable Demons lineup that was in the midst of a dynasty, the solidly built recruit found his place at the Lakeside Oval in 1940, making his debut and proving to be a capable option who could drift forward and hit the scoreboard. Standing 183cm and weighing 87kg, he possessed a physical frame well-suited to the demands of league football at the time. His promising start was abruptly curtailed by the Second World War, during which he served as a Flying Officer with the RAAF, effectively bringing a premature end to his VFL career after just one season.
