Bio
A Hotham native, Greensmith originally cut his teeth with North Melbourne in the VFA during the 1920 season before a detour with Railways FC in the Wednesday League. He returned to Arden Street in 1923, establishing himself as a diligent forward pocket who featured regularly in the club’s final VFA campaign. Part of the inaugural VFL squad in 1925, he had to bide his time before earning a senior debut in Round 8 against St Kilda, where contemporary reports praised his work rate and ability to lead early attacks. He retained his spot for a trip to Princes Park to face Carlton the following week, but that appearance marked the end of his brief tenure at the top level, securing his place in history as one of the club's "Original Shinboners."
