Stats
Bio
A diminutive rover recruited from North Brighton, Harry Gyles made a brief impact at Essendon during the 1934 season. Standing just 171cm, he was a classic pocket-sized forward and follower who used his low centre of gravity and goal sense to compensate for his lack of height. He broke into the senior lineup midway through the year, debuting in a Round 11 victory over North Melbourne, and retained his spot for the remainder of the season, booting six goals in his nine appearances. While his VFL career was limited to that single winter at Windy Hill, Gyles provided valuable service as a rotation player for the Bombers before drifting away from the League scene.
