Bio
Hailing from the Wimmera township of Noradjuha, Harold "Harry" Johns arrived at the Western Oval as Footscray was still establishing its foothold in the Victorian Football League. Standing 183cm and weighing 87kg, Johns was a powerfully built utility for the era, offering a physical presence that allowed him to rotate between key forward posts and the following division. He showed he could be a reliable avenue to goal, booting 11 majors across his short tenure, but he found it difficult to command a permanent place in the senior side during the club's formative years. Johns played 20 games over three seasons before departing the VFL scene at the conclusion of 1928.
