Bio
Recruited from Prahran Juniors, Harry Kerley was a dynamic forward who burst onto the scene with Collingwood in 1915, booting 21 goals in his debut season and displaying aerial prowess comparable to Magpie legend Dick Lee. His rapid rise was abruptly halted by World War I, during which he served with the AIF and notably represented the Australian Training Units in the famous 1916 Pioneer Exhibition Game in London. Kerley eventually resumed his VFL career in 1921, not with Collingwood but with St Kilda, where he remained a dangerous target in attack for two seasons. While the war cost him the prime years of his VFL tenure, Kerley later cemented a formidable legacy in the VFA, captaining Coburg to three consecutive premierships in the late 1920s.
