Bio
Recruited from VFA club West Melbourne, Harry Laxton established himself as a consistent wingman for Essendon during the early 1900s. The older brother of Collingwood player Charlie Laxton, he made an immediate impact upon his arrival at East Melbourne, missing just two games in his debut season and featuring in the club's 1904 semi-final campaign. Laxton remained a regular fixture in the senior lineup throughout 1905, providing drive through the midfield as the Bombers contended for the premiership. Although his opportunities at VFL level diminished over his final two years, he is remembered as a capable contributor who played his role well during a competitive era for the club.
