Bio
Recruited from Alphington in the Sub-District League, Harry Lippiatt was a promising centreman whose VFL career was unfortunately curtailed by a serious knee injury after just two seasons. He established himself in the Essendon midfield during the late 1930s, playing 22 games across 1938 and 1939, but was forced out of the league just as he was finding his feet at the senior level. Following his premature departure from Windy Hill, Lippiatt moved to Queensland where he coached Coorparoo from 1940 to 1943, eventually returning to Victoria to mentor junior footballers in Kilsyth. His family connection to the game continued through his younger brother, Ken Lippiatt, who played senior football for Hawthorn during the war years.
