Bio
A rare turn-of-the-century Tasmanian import, Henry "Harry" Luck crossed Bass Strait from the Launceston Football Club to test his mettle in the VFL. He arrived at the Junction Oval in 1901, walking into a St Kilda environment that was enduring a wretched competitive trough and destined for that season's wooden spoon. Luck battled in the Saints' lineup for eight senior appearances, featuring as a defensive-minded utility in a side that was routinely overwhelmed by the league's powerhouse clubs. Unable to impact the scoreboard or cement a permanent spot in the struggling 22, his tenure in Victorian football was fleeting; he departed the VFL landscape after a single winter and eventually returned to the Apple Isle.
