Stats
Bio
Recruited from local church team St Lukes, Harry Pye was a regular fixture in the Carlton lineup during the struggling 1901 season, missing just three games in his debut year. A reliable local footballer who stepped up during a bleak period for the Blues, he managed to hold his spot for the opening two rounds of the 1902 season. However, Pye's career became a casualty of one of the most significant turning points in club history: the arrival of legendary secretary-coach Jack Worrall. Following a heavy defeat in Round 2, Worrall swung the axe, making eight changes to the side in a ruthless overhaul that would eventually set the foundations for Carlton's first golden era. Pye was swept out in the purge, never appearing at VFL level again before eventually continuing his football journey with Brighton in the VFA.
