Bio
Recruited from the Eastern Ranges with pick 20 in the 2011 National Draft, Hayden Crozier arrived at Fremantle with a reputation for the spectacular, largely fueled by a towering mark taken during the Under-18 Championships. During his time at the Dockers, he was primarily utilised as a forward who could provide X-factor, yet he struggled to cement a permanent position in the senior side, often finding himself on the fringe of selection. In search of greater continuity, he requested a trade to the Western Bulldogs at the end of the 2017 season, a move that would define the second half of his career.
Under Luke Beveridge, Crozier was successfully reinvented as an intercepting defender. The positional switch maximised his natural vertical leap and strong hands, allowing him to peel off opponents and launch counter-attacks with his piercing left-foot kick. He became a reliable figure across half-back for the Bulldogs, noted for his courage and aerial presence, although soft tissue injuries hampered his continuity in later years. After fighting to regain his place in the senior lineup during the 2023 season, he retired with 142 games to his name, having transitioned from a highlight-reel forward to a composed defensive regular.
