Bio
Recruited from the Oakleigh Chargers with selection 36 in the 1997 National Draft, Hayden Lamaro was a midfielder who earned an immediate debut under new coach Neale Daniher in the opening round of the 1998 season. Although he featured in the Demons' Round 1 victory over Fremantle, Lamaro found it difficult to secure a regular position in a Melbourne side that rapidly improved to reach a Preliminary Final that same year. He managed only one further senior appearance, a loss to Carlton in Round 18, and spent the entirety of the 1999 season playing in the reserves. Unable to force his way back into the senior lineup, he was delisted at the conclusion of his second season.
