Bio
Recruited to Arden Street during one of the most tumultuous periods in the club's history, Hector Moir arrived at North Melbourne in 1930 as part of a desperate rebuild. With the Great Depression forcing many experienced players to leave the club for employment in the country or interstate, Moir was one of several fresh faces brought in to plug the gaps in a depleted list. Standing 174cm, he operated primarily as a small forward and resting rover, tasked with crumbing at the feet of the packs. Unfortunately, he played his football in a side that was overwhelmingly outmatched; North Melbourne managed only a single win during his debut season and went winless throughout his second year in 1931. Despite showing glimpses of goal-sense with six majors from his 12 senior appearances, Moir was unable to cement a long-term position in the side. He was delisted at the end of 1931 as the club continued to aggressively churn through players in search of a competitive formula, leaving him as a footnote in the Shinboners' hardest era.
