Stats
Bio
Recruited from the strong South Ballarat club in the goldfields region, Hedley Bryant was a diminutive rover and forward who earned a brief trial with Essendon during the 1910 season. Standing just 171cm, he relied on agility and goal sense to compete at the top level, making his debut as the "Same Olds" were pushing towards a finals campaign. His standout performance came in just his second match, where he booted two goals in a comfortable win over Melbourne at the MCG. Despite showing promise near the sticks, Bryant found it difficult to retain his place in a competitive lineup that would contest the semi-finals that year, and he returned to local football after three senior appearances.
