Bio
Born in the Victorian gold mining town of Dunolly, Henry "Harry" Jane took a circuitous route to the VFL, eventually catching the eye of recruiters while playing for Kalgoorlie City in the Western Australian Goldfields. He made his debut for Carlton in early 1911 but struggled to hold a spot in a competitive Blues lineup, managing just three senior appearances. After a three-year absence from the league, Jane was thrown a lifeline by St Kilda in 1914, where the 175cm utility found more consistent opportunities. He played 10 games for the Saints that season, largely filling gaps in the midfield and defence for a side that finished near the bottom of the ladder, before his short top-level career came to a close.
