Bio
A local product from the Geelong region, Herb Pitman was recruited from the ranks of the city's industrial workers, notably holding a position at the Albion Woollen Mills. He was called up to the senior side midway through the 1902 season, a difficult campaign for the Pivotonians that saw them languishing near the bottom of the ladder. Pitman featured in five matches as a utility player, brought in to plug gaps in a lineup that managed just one win during his brief tenure. Following his short stint at the elite level, he returned to local football and remained a lifelong resident of Geelong until his passing in 1939.
