Bio
Recruited from local ranks, Herb Woodhead was a diminutive rover and forward pocket who joined Richmond during the club's formative years in the VFL. Standing just 171cm, he made his senior debut in Round 9, 1910 against Essendon, but struggled to secure a permanent place in a Tigers side that was slowly building its identity. Woodhead served primarily as a depth player, managing five appearances in his debut season before adding just two more games over the subsequent two years. Unable to impact the scoreboard or break into the starting 18 consistently, he left the VFL scene following the 1912 season with seven goalless games to his name.
