Bio
Recruited from Northcote in the VFA, Herbie White made an immediate impact upon his arrival at Melbourne, debuting in Round 1 of the 1926 season and quickly cementing his spot in the senior side. A clever and industrious rover, he is best remembered for the "lethal partnership" he formed with ruckman Col Deane; this combination was instrumental during the 1926 finals series, helping engineer a comeback in the Semi Final against Collingwood. White’s debut season culminated in the ultimate success, as he tasted premiership glory in the Grand Final victory over the Magpies. He remained a consistent contributor and a regular fixture in the Redlegs' lineup for four seasons, playing 67 games before his VFL career concluded at the end of 1929.
