Bio
Originally hailing from Toora in South Gippsland, Horrie Bannister was a diminutive utility who arrived at the elite level via the Brighton Football Club. He spent two seasons at St Kilda, where he rotated through the forward pocket and on the ball for 17 games, but struggled to cement a permanent place in the senior lineup. Seeking a fresh start, Bannister crossed to Richmond for the 1924 season, but he found opportunities scarce in a powerful Tigers outfit that would go on to claim the minor premiership that year. He made just a single appearance in the yellow and black before his brief VFL career concluded, remembered primarily as a depth player who bridged two clubs during the early 1920s.
